Questions, questions, questions
There have been a few adverts on tv lately that have prompted questions that I must ask! I don’t know if this is just the case with UK tv but, anyway here we go -
Tooth paste adverts -
All tooth paste ads seem to have moved towards this “let’s interview a dental expert” kind of theme, but the interview always seems to be portrayed as some kind of secret recording that has been leaked, and the public must now be made aware! I get the concept, but surely there’s no psychological impact on the viewer if every tooth paste ad is like this?
Diarrhoea/constipation adverts -
Why are these ads always centred around/aimed at women? I genuinely can’t remember 1 single ad of this nature that has had a man in it. Whyyyyyyy??
Vagisil (yeast infection cream) -
Okay this is more of a dig at the product itself, but WHY call it Vagisil? It sounds disgusting, like it’s some kind of poly filler for your fanny. They don’t call Pepto Bismol ‘tummycure’ or ‘bettertum’, or Immodium ‘stoptheshits’ - why make something awkward even more awkward than it needs to be?!
Just to put a positive spin on this post, my favourite adverts are the Harvey the Dog ones. They are the best :)
